EV Reservation System
Overview
Develop the UI/UX of an EV Reservation System
The Nissan Ariya is an all-electric crossover SUV blending modern Japanese design with premium technology — Nissan’s boldest step yet into the EV market. For its national launch, Randy Keeler worked to design the Ariya pre-order, end-to-end version 1.0 UI/UX design of both the public-facing reservation platform and a new enterprise intranet for internal inventory management. From wireframes and user flows to high-fidelity Figma prototypes, Randy was responsible for initiating UI/UX designs across two distinct but interconnected product surfaces.

Develop the UI/UX of an EV Reservation System
The primary challenge was designing a reservation platform capable of converting curious EV shoppers into committed pre-order customers — before the Ariya had even reached dealerships. The experience needed to communicate the vehicle’s features and the broader case for going electric, while guiding users through a frictionless purchase commitment. Simultaneously, Randy contributed to an internal initiative to modernize Nissan’s automotive inventory management system, replacing fragmented legacy workflows with a centralized intranet environment. Both products required strict adherence to Nissan’s brand standards, with all visual design, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and spec documentation developed in Figma and delivered to separate development teams for build-out.
The Challenge

A well-designed experience made all the difference.
The Ariya reservation platform successfully generated pre-launch sales ahead of the vehicle’s official release, giving early buyers first-access delivery and eliminating post-launch wait times. The intuitive pre-order experience built consumer confidence during a critical adoption window for EV technology. Internally, the modernized intranet streamlined inventory workflows for Nissan employees, reducing operational friction and consolidating previously siloed processes into one cohesive platform.
The Results

Conclusion
The reservation platform had to sell the Ariya before anyone could drive it — and a well-designed experience made all the difference.
